Under the Radar with Incubate

Incubate is a platform for new and emerging young musicians and singers from East Sussex to develop their skills through workshops and collaboration evenings (Incubate Hatch) and with live performances and recording opportunities (Incubate LIVE).

As part of Under the Radar, four stages of emerging talent on Sunday 11 February, a line-up of Incubate artists will perform at On the Rocks from noon.

These artists include: New wave/dance/prog rock from Crunchy Bat; Rock from four-piece Mourning Over Mafia; Rock n Roll from The Wingmen, who take inspiration from bands including The Stereophonics and Foo Fighters; singer and guitarist Blue Lily; singer-songwriter Xavier Ralph; hard rock duo The Mystic Shed; and indie rock from Zoolooz.

Incubate is facilitated by The Eggtooth Project, an organisation which runs creative learning projects for children and young people. It started in summer 2017 when Eggtooth mentors Brad Gross, Marie White, Brigitte Aphrodite and Gaz Tomlinson supported 15 acts for six weeks on their journey to the Zooquarium Festival stage on Hastings Pier, picked from the 500 young people who had auditioned for this opportunity.

A new event for Hastings Fat Tuesday 2018, Under the Radar is a whole afternoon of free live music takes place across four stages, at The Palace Bar, The Brass Monkey, and On the Rocks, curated by BBC Introducing The South, The Joe Strummer Foundation, Off Axis Network and Incubate (from The Eggtooth Project).
